Dreamer’s World May 08, 2018 – Making A Change

Since I have written so much about the move to the new apartment, and how much we all love it, I decided that I would go ahead and make another change. I decided that I would update the appearance of my blog.
I made the decision rather quickly, but I wasn’t rushing things. I chose a light color since the new apartment is full of light and I wanted something more cheerful to match my mood most of the time. Although I can be reflective at times, generally I am always looking for ways to be more positive.
I hope everyone likes the new theme.

Dreamer’s World April 26, 2018 – The Morning Light

One of the things that I like the most about the new apartment is the light that comes in early in the morning. This is the first place that we have lived for many years that faces towards the north and east, which gives us more light in the morning. Because we are in a corner unit, we do have two sides of windows in the living room that really capture all available light during the day.

This wonderful way to wake up has really made me appreciate the new place even more than before. For the first week, everything was still too hectic to sit back and gaze in wonder at this place. This morning, I watched four ducks paddle across the serene lake outside the balcony and marveled at the sense of calm that came over me. There was nothing like this in the old apartment, we looked out over the parking lot, and the daylight was behind the building. This meant that all we saw was blinding light in the afternoon and cars going back and forth in the parking lot all day and night. This is much better.
It is amazing how such simple things can affect one’s outlook on life. This move was stressful, but it will be worth it for us in the long term. We both are looking forward to being here for many years.

Dreamer’s World February 18, 2018 – The Promise Of Spring

As I spend time with my thoughts on this Sunday afternoon, I noticed the sunlight streaming through the windows. It is so nice and warm, although it is also blinding to the point where I had to close some of the blinds to be able to see properly. I thought about how beautiful things are right now, and then I realized that Spring is just over a month away according to the calendar. I also know that Spring arrives on its schedule.
As I thought about these things, I grabbed my phone and shot some pictures. The images are timeless, and I am glad that I took them so I can remember them as I write. Some of the pictures are haunting, for lack of a better word. They aren’t scary. Perhaps melancholy is a better term since they signify the passage of time and the change of seasons as another year moved past us all.
