If you are a regular reader of my blog, you’ll remember that we lost Hal The Cat to cancer on Saturday. On Sunday, I decided to visit an adoption event at the local Petco store. I didn’t tell Hal (person) where we were going because I wasn’t expecting much from cats that would grab our attention.
We were both shocked to see black cats up for adoption at this time. Too many sick people want to harm black cats around Halloween, which is sad. We looked at several cats before one of the volunteers asked us if we had seen Henry yet.
Both Hal and I looked at each other, and we both felt Karma at work. Hal’s real name is Henry, so adopting a cat named Henry would be another that shared Hal/Henry’s name. If that wasn’t a sign, I don’t know what is.
We filled out the paperwork and provided references. The volunteers told us they would call the references on Monday; instead, they were all called late Sunday afternoon.
For today, we’ll wait for the phone call that lets us know we can pick Henry up and bring him home. Hopefully, that will be early in the day so we can let Henry get used to his new home.
