Kindness Journey – Day 92 – Cooking Again

I wish our kitchen looked like the one on the picture. Instead, we have a typical small apartment kitchen, but at least I’ve finally got some cooking done in the new place.

For the first 10 days or so, there was just too much going on with unpacking to really settle into the new kitchen. Finally, I bought some pork chops, marinated them overnight, and cooked them in the oven. I’m happy to report that they turned out delicious.

Personally, there are few things that give me pleasure like cooking a nice meal for us here at home. Hal truly enjoyed the meal, and that is the best compliment I can receive.

After a trip to Costco, we now have frozen chicken breasts in the freezer, fresh salmon in the refrigerator, and I have things for side dishes. I’ll prepare the salmon tomorrow and marinate it so I can cook it Tuesday. Any last-minute items I can pick up from Kroger.

It feels like home now. Cooking relaxes me. Cooking makes me think about Kindness. Cooking soothes the inner turmoil in my life.
