Kindness Journey – Day 60 – The Home Stretch

We’re in the home stretch. The move is less than 2 weeks away now. We’ve boxed up everything we can and are on the verge of living out of backpacks and suitcases.

Each day we find more things to pack, or in some cases, donate to Goodwill prior to the move. This way, we don’t accumulate tons of useless stuff that has to be carried from place to place.

We are professionals at moving. In the last 11 years, we’ve moved 7 times and are preparing for move number 8. It’s always greedy landlords that make us move. This is a trend since we’ve lived in Virginia. When we lived in Maryland, we stayed in one place for 10 years because our rent never skyrocketed. Maryland has laws to limit rent increases, Virginia doesn’t.

Because if the ridiculous rent increases, we’re going to look at houses when we get to Richmond. We’ll have at least a year to look around and decide what we want to do.

The first thing is to get this nice over with and settle down for awhile. I hope things go smoothly for us.
