We live in an age of almost instantaneous information exchange. I call it “infoporn” because there is so much that we really just don’t need to know being shouted all over the place.
I long for a simpler time. A time when radio was king. People still got their information and entertainment, but it was delivered in manageable doses each day, instead of the constant deluge we get today. I watch old movies and marvel at families huddled around a radio for entertainment and information.
My Dad was a HAM radio operator. He taught me that there was an entire world out there that didn’t have to be seen. I often prefer listening to the radio even today to being overloaded with infoporn that is far too readily available.
Usually if the radio isn’t on, I’m not listening to, or watching anything. Radio fuels my imagination.
