Looking Forward
Things don’t always work out as planned, and life has setbacks. I don’t want to dwell on the past, I want to look to the future with hope and optimism. There is more than enough negativity right now to last a lifetime, and yet we all seem to wallow in it continuously.
The first thing I found that helps me focus on the bright future is meditation. I feel the calming effects in the present, and that clears my mind to think about more positive things for the future.
Another key session is fine I learned from my parents, and that is don’t spend time looking back at what mistakes you made. If nothing else, there are plenty of new and exciting mistakes ahead of you! My parents actually said that to me when I was a child. I didn’t realize the wisdom of those words at the time, but I see it clearly now.
The future is full of possibilities, but nothing is guaranteed. You still have to work hard and stay focused. You will never have all the answers, just more questions as you go along, but that is part of the journey. Life and the future are things to be excited about, not feared.
