Virtual Happy Hour
Today was the first virtual happy hour in months. Because I am still out on disability, this is the only real chance I have to see everyone I worked with until late last year. It seems that forever has passed since then, things have changed at work, which is no surprise to me.
I wanted to just be seen and to talk to everyone for a little while. Even with Hal and The Stooges, it feels very lonely at times. I need the extra human interaction to keep my sanity intact. I have written about how solitary my life can be at times, with the exception of Hal and The Stooges, and I am used to it. That face does not change how I feel at times, I get lonely just like everyone else. I have to focus more on being happy with things as they are, rather than worrying about what I don’t have already.
The virtual happy hour was enjoyable. I feel better and there is a sense of optimism as the weekend starts. I hope this is a good sign for a great weekend.
