One thing that we have adjusted to, mostly since my hospital stays, has been utilizing the curbside pick up option at the local grocery stores. The option of groceries brought to the car has allowed me to get out of the apartment without exposing me to a building full of people from whom I might not be protected.
I realize this might sound paranoid, but unless you have done through the ordeals I’ve gone through, your judgment isn’t relevant to me. I’ve nearly died, and as a result, I’ll take every precaution I can to protect myself going forward. There is no one else who will put my interest first and foremost. It is up to me to defend myself.
I was unsure if I would like the curbside option until I tried it. I found that there is no difference in using it. There is a minuscule difference in cost, but that is offset with the time used shopping and the health issues associated with going back to the hospital.
The convenience isn’t as good as I would like. I have to select a timeframe for picking up my order, and there are often wait times associated with the curbside pickup. Sometimes I must wait until the following day to arrange a pickup. I wish that this wasn’t the case, but I must take the bad with the good.
Curbside pick up is the best option for me right now to protect myself against the pandemic, and I’ll continue to use it.
