Tuesday Efforts

I’m in the middle of my morning, and already I’ve emptied the refrigerator and been to the store to get the first list of items that we need for tonight’s cooking.

The trip to the store was uneventful, with wearing the oxygen mask and carrying the oxygen tank had people staring at me, which I hate. On the other hand, people deferred to me and offered to help when I reached for anything.

When I got home, Hal was still waiting on the plumber to repair the leak at the bath sink. The leak is now going on for five days without any progress on the issue—just another example of why we are leaving here at the end of our lease.

If the leak is repaired today, we will leave Publix and pick up our grocery order late this afternoon. If the leak hasn’t been fixed, I would want to be on the other end of Hal’s phone call because he will be furious. I don’t blame him because the leak has just gotten worse over the last five days.

After an unplanned nap, I got a message that the groceries were ready for pickup early. I went and got the groceries and came home to find Hal telling me that the maintenance plumber allegedly fixed the leak at last. We got the food put away in the cleaned-out refrigerator, and now we can relax for the rest of the afternoon.

I’m still undecided if I’ll cook the pork chops tonight or tomorrow. There’s no rush about it right now.
