I sometimes wonder exactly why I care so much about what I do for a living. I suppose it is because I feel a “purpose” or a “calling” that signifies how important what I do is for me.
One of the things I have always wanted to do is to make things better than they are. With my current job, I work to improve the customer experience with the software our company provides. I have worked here for nearly 14 years and I have enjoyed almost every single day. Interacting with the customer and knowing that my efforts help them is a huge personal ego stroke to me.
I try to stay as up-to-date as I can with the latest advances in technology so I can help the customer even more. It answers a deeper calling, and that is to help others.
I hope that I never get to the point where I just don’t care about the loves of others. I believe that caring makes life worth living.
