“He’s not hurting the people he needs to be”: a Trump voter says the quiet part out loud
I have written about how the job has changed over the last 2 months. I am still not happy with the changes that have added lots of extra work for me. The additional work involves things that are not performing as well as expected, and I was not given adequate training before being dumped from the frying pan into the fire. Yesterday, things finally came into focus.
One of the coworkers is leaving the company after 7 years. His work is falling to me as a result. He told me that he is leaving in 2 weeks. This explains why I have been under attack from all sides, but it doesn’t make it any easier to accept. I wish my coworker the very best in his new job, but I now suspect that this decision had been reached about the time everyone started piling on me. It would have made a tremendous difference how I responded and handled things if I had known earlier, but that is all in the past now.
The only thing I can do is to give my best effort and make the additional jobs my own. I do not have the expertise that the coworker had, so I will approach the job in my own way and do my best.
